After a one-year break, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution has evolved in every sense. It returned in 2008 with a fully redesigned body and soul that represented the brand's racing heritage. Equipped with a turbocharged engine and the latest in technological features, the largely unchanged 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is undoubtedly a top performing car. Power and performance

The 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is offered in GSR and MR trim levels. Both the trims are powered by a 291-horsepower, 2.0-liter MIVEC Inline four-cylinder engine. The GSR engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, while the MR model is fitted with Mitsubishi's new six-speed automated-clutch manual transmission operated through metal paddle shifters. Power is transmitted through an all-wheel drive system. Estimated fuel economy of the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR is 16/22 mpg (city/highway), while that of the MR trim is 17/22 mpg (city/highway).

Body and styling
